2002 Amanda Davis will graduate in May 2010 from the University of Illinois with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Amanda is currently interning in neurology and animal sciences after taking her State Board Certification exams. She plans to continue her education after getting married this summer. Amanda is the daughter of Randy and Patsy Davis of Mackinaw. 2009 Kelley Brandenburg, who was a two year starter on the Lady Chief’s basketball team for Coach Tony Riddle, graduated with a 3.860 GPA. Kelly has signed with Monmouth College. The Fighting Scots Women’s’ Basketball Team is a NCAA Division III team coached by Melissa Bittner. Kelly is the daughter of Bill and Cheryl Brandenburg of Mackinaw. Sheila Grimm was a four year starter on the Lady Chief’s softball team for Coach Kendra Morgan. Sheila, who was recently named to the Panatagraph Area All Star team, graduated with a 4.241 GPA and signed with NCAA Division III Illinois College in Jacksonville. The Lady Blues Women’s Softball team is coached by Chad Nelson and Keena Canevit. Sheila is the daughter of David Grimm of Mackinaw. Katie Rhoades was a Dee-Mack standout in track for Coach Tom Hodge and volleyball for Coach Jennifer Mallicoat. Katie advanced to the state track meet in her last two years at Dee-Mack, as well as being a member of the 2007 1A 4th place state volleyball team. Katie, who graduated with a 4.271 GPA has signed to play Women’s Volleyball with NCAA Division III Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. The Titans are coached by Kim Nelson-Brown. Katie is the daughter of Tom and Julie Rhoades of Mackinaw. |

2009 Jordan Schertz played varsity football for Coach Job Linboom for three years helping to return the Chief’s to post season play his senior year. Jordan, who graduated with a 3.123 GPA has signed to continue his football career with NCAA Division III Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. The Warriors are coached by Dr. Dennis Miller and Mike Fossum. Jordan is the son of James and Joanie Schertz of Mackinaw. Doug Small was a two year starter for Coach Mitch Holmgren and helped to lead the Chief’s to a sectional championship his senior year. Doug graduated with a 3.0 GPA and has signed to play Men’s basketball and NCAA Division III Elmhurst College. The Blue Jays are coached by Mark Scherer and John Bains. Doug is the son of Mark and Jamie Small of Mackinaw. 2010 Clay Goggil has been accepted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under their Early Action program. The program allows high school seniors to apply for admission who have taken all the required standardized tests and postmark all of the application materials by November 1. Students admitted under Early Action may accept or decline the offer, and in either case are not required to reply until May 1. No more than 30% of MIT’s total freshman class is admitted under Early Action. Clay is the son of Michael and Val Goggil of Mackinaw. |
