MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

HELD AT THE UNIT OFFICE ON

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2007 AT 7:30 P.M.

Mrs. Egolf called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.

Roll Call: Members Present: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand

Administration Present: Yarnall, Lamb, Lammers

Guests Present: Larry Boyd, Jordan McCaw, Jason Smith, Matt, Rhonda, & Alec

McClure, Russ Middleton, District Archtitect

Recording Secretary: Wurster

A motion was made by Mr. Wiegand, seconded by Mrs. Burmaster, to accept with regrets the resignation of Lisa Carter as high school special education teacher and Peggy Alford as crossing guard in Deer Creek. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Burr, to employ Mary Lanier as high school special education teacher for the 2007-2008 school year. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Cox, to approve the bid from Vanguard Contracters, Inc. for the high school construction project. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Cornwell, seconded by Mr. Cox, to approve the Master Contract between Deer Creek-Mackinaw Board of Education and the DCMEA/IEA-NEA as presented. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Burr, seconded by Mr. Cornwell, to go into executive session to discuss the salaries and benefits for the administration and district personnel at 8:39 p.m. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Cornwell, seconded by Mr. Wiegand, to come out of executive session at 10:22 p.m. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Wiegand, seconded by Mrs. Burr, to approve the salaries and benefits for the administration and district personnel. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Wiegand, seconded by Mrs. Burmaster, to adjourn at 10:28 p.m. Ayes: Burmaster, Burr, Cornwell, Cox, Egolf, Miller, Wiegand Nays: none Motion carried.
