Occupational Therapy
I am Connie O'Neill. I am an Registered Occupational Therapist. I graduated from St. Ambrose University in 1993. I worked with adults for many of those years, but have in the last couple of years transitioned to kids in the school environment. What a FUN - challenging change! I now evaluate, treat and consult with teachers in the Mackinaw, Tremont, and Washington school districts. Kids who are referred to us have been identified as having difficulty in school with fine motor skills, handwriting, visual-perceptual, or sensory motor deficits. We try to work creatively to increase their success in the school environment by addressing those areas. With the insight of a well rounded team of professionals in the building we decide if the child may be best served by consulting though their teacher or pulling them from their classroom for therapy. I am in the building every Tuesday and am available the other days of the week as needed. My name is Aria Hise and I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. I graduated in 1999 from Illinois Central College with an Associate in Applied Science for Occupational Therapy as well as with an Associate in General Education. I have worked as an OT assistant in the schools for seven years but have only been with Deer- Creek Mackinaw schools for approximately three and a half years. My duties include direct Occupational Therapy services as well as consultation services. I collaborate between the Registered Occupational Therapist, teachers and parents to ensure excellent service for our children.
