Good evening Dee-Mack Parents and Guardians,

I wanted to follow up on my last email from Friday regarding Governor Pritzker’s news. While it was not a surprise, there's no doubt the finality of the announcement still makes it difficult.  We'll continue to remain resolute in our collective commitment to the students and families of District #701. Please know the continued support and positive emails I have received throughout this entire closure have been greatly appreciated.  This is not something that any of us could have anticipated nor have experienced, but we will come out of it Dee-Mack Strong!

Here are dates for all students to wrap up 2019-2020

  • Senior's last day will be May 1st.

  • PK-11 graders’ last day will be May 12th.

  • The last day for meal distribution will be May 12th.

  • Report cards will be emailed or mailed out on May 19th

We will utilize the 5 planning days allowed by the State Board of Education (May 13-15, 18-19) at the end of our calendar.  District staff will be using this time to assess remote learning, collaborate on re-entry strategies as we move back to in-person instruction (hopefully in August), and complete other tasks congruent with the end of the school year. Since we did not use three of the emergency days allotted in the calendar the teacher’s last day will be May 19th.

All other questions will be answered in the near future by building administrators as decisions are made. Please be patient as we work as a district to get information to you. Some of these will be determined after the stay and shelter mandate is updated.

Take care,

Michele Jacobs
